Focus on the Negatives to Achieve Positive Outcomes

There are a lot of folks out there comfortable in their homes but blind to the desperate situation they are in. If you are in a 10-15 year old suburban subdivision, it is likely there are things that are in dire need of remodeling. It is not just a matter of styles and finishes, we simply aren't living the same as we did 10 years ago. If I was living today the way I did 10 years ago, my wife would have left me a long time ago. For example:

· Is your Master Bathroom soaking tub home to laundry, cat litter or indoor plants? Guess what, your spouse is sick of it.

· Is your once spacious Laundry Room filled with soccer gear and 30 pairs of shoes? If so, you are on the verge of losing control. They'll be taking over the Kitchen next!

· Does your three car garage have zero cars in it? Houston, we have a problem.

· Do you enjoy saving money by buying bulk at Costco? We all do. And I would put money on the fact that someone is sick and tired of retrieving all those value items from the basement or garage.
The bottom line is that your house is more than a bunch of studs and drywall, it's your home. You spend a ton of time there and you raise your kids there. While it may seem perfectly acceptable the way it is, you'd be amazed what the right design decisions can do for your lifestyle and your family's happiness. Focus on what's wrong with your house and start making intelligent changes. Your spouse will appreciate it more than you realize, and who knows what that may lead to.....
