At Harth, we love renovating a client’s underused space into an attractive, efficient new area that solves key needs for the family. For our Dresher client, they were in dire need of organized space for their growing family and their beloved pets. Their home’s laundry room was spacious but lacked an effective floor plan and storage. To address their needs, new cabinetry and counters were introduced to designate areas for storage, washer and dryer units, a folding station, and a pet station. Tall storage at the end of a built-in bench and cubbies provides an attractive visual division between the children’s new landing zone for coats, shoes, and diaper bag, and the nearby pet counter and storage. Open floor space below the new corner counter is designated for pet food bowls, litter box, and supplies and is intentionally separate from the rest of the family’s living spaces. The water heater and furnace remain fully accessible behind new double doors but are now enclosed for aesthetic and functional privacy and to prevent the pets from entering the open crawlspace access. The exterior wall behind the washer, dryer, and laundry sink were furred out to conceal surface-mounted plumbing and electrical connections. Long-lasting, highly durable tile flooring with a contemporary blue geometric pattern complements the blue and medium stain maple cabinetry and neutral color scheme. The attractive and welcoming newly remodeled mudroom and laundry space will serve the family for many years to come!
