farmhouse sink, apron sink, soapstone, kitchen, remodelA LOT of time is spent in front of the kitchen sink.  Because of this, it is good design to place the sink in a location with some sort of view.  This could mean installing it below a window, in an island, or in a peninsula.  This increases the quality of the kitchen environment for the cook.  A different approach to accomplish this is to change the material of the sink itself.  Soapstone does this beautifully.  Not only does it match the counter, but if you look closely, there is a dish drain board built into the countertop just to the right of the sink.
