Our Chestnut Hill clients approached us desiring to transform their underused covered side porch into a mud room for essential first floor storage. An exterior design in-keeping with their 1880 Philadelphia home constructed of Wissahickon schist (metamorphic rock) with Victorian Reminiscent detailing was of utmost importance. The completed project carefully preserved the home’s turned columns, detailed cookie cutter frieze, and color scheme. Interior features include custom inset cabinetry, exposed stone, and windows that wrap the corner wall, maximizing natural light and visibility to the front and side yards. The result is a finely detailed, attractive, and proportioned enclosed porch that seamlessly integrates function and blends the enclosed space into the home as if it was originally included. Our clients have captured much needed space in their home that will serve their daily use and enjoyment for decades to come!
