Our Lansdale clients were seeking a fresh new look for their foyer, dining room, and primary bath. In the foyer, their existing carpeted stairs and white painted railing were completely removed and replaced with new stained wood treads and risers and a combination railing of black spindles and wood handrail. Luxury vinyl plank flooring that coordinates with the wood stairs was installed in the foyer, living, and dining rooms giving the entire first floor an eye-catching, contemporary aesthetic. Updated electrical including new wall sconces and a foyer chandelier with motorized lift for easy cleaning and maintenance improves both the function and appearance of the spaces. For focal interest, coordinating wainscot trim was installed in the foyer and dining room, including painted trim on the vaulted wall above the entry door. The new second floor carpet, a handsome geometric pattern, was also selected as the stair runner as it enhances the warm, neutral color scheme of the first floor.
Upstairs, the primary bath was fully transformed. By removing a portion of the shower wall, bright daylight from the high vaulted ceiling is maximized and the shower feels larger even though the footprint remained the same. The existing large corner tub was replaced with a generous-sized drop-in soaking tub with quartz surround. New bath features include hand showers at both the tub and shower, a wall-mounted towel warmer, full-height accent tile on the vaulted wall, and a tile and quartz shower niche. The striking encaustic floor tile is complemented by rich navy cabinetry, neutral paint and patterned quartz counters, and matte black bath fixtures, hardware, and trims.
Insightful design, functional improvements, and long-lasting, durable materials have transformed the appearance and feel of the family’s home and will serve them for many years to come!
