We’ve kept you up to date recently with what projects and community activities Harth Builders has been involved in. But how about the talented individuals making these projects possible? Last Friday Harth Builders’ Design and Production teams were able to get out of the office or off of job sites for some fun! Both departments got to enjoy a little bit of what the city of Philadelphia has to offer. The Design team participated in an Architectural Walking Tour, while the entire Production team enjoyed a great Phillies game.
The walking tour, conducted by The Preservation Alliance for Greater Philadelphia, focused on the Beaux Arts style period. This architectural style is a heavily ornamented classical style. Certain characteristics include over-scaled details, bold sculptural supporting consoles, and rich deep cornices. Harth’s Design team was able to walk throughout Center City to view buildings designed with features of this style. Such buildings included; The Bellevue Hotel, The Union League, The Ritz Carlton, City Hall, and the PSFS Building (otherwise known as the Lowe’s Hotel). Dinner and drinks were then followed at the new trendy Mexican hot spot Mission Taqueria, a place everyone would recommend!
The Production team attended a nail bitter of a Phillies game that evening as well. Although it was an overall hot and muggy day, the guys were still able to enjoy an afternoon off starting at Xfinity Live. The Phillies played the Arizona Diamondbacks beginning at 7:05 in the evening. Unfortunately, they continued their losing streak and were defeated 5-4. Nonetheless, it was a great day spent together as a team!
Strong relationships are important to build, especially with your coworkers. One typically spends more time with them during the work week than with their own family. At Harth, we like to think we are all one big family. Spending time together outside the office is always a goal of ours multiple times per year. It helps to build stronger bonds and relationships as time goes on which results in better finished projects for our clients.
