This client came to us with the goal of updating their basement family room with amenities and display space for frequently entertaining family and friends. The existing room was large, dark, and lacked architectural detail, making it feel uninviting to guests. In order to make the family room more appealing, we designed an entertainment center with a large gas fireplace, floating wood shelves routed underneath for display lighting, and faux ceiling beams to warm the room and match the existing style of the home. We installed a bar at the back of the living room that showcases several rustic and bold elements like black cabinets, reclaimed wood counters, a custom aluminum footrest, and a leopard-print backsplash to add some extra flair. Additionally, the client wanted to renovate the adjacent guest bedroom to use, it exclusively, as an exercise space. Rubber flooring, a full-height mirror wall, and an indoor sauna unit were installed to complete the home gym feel and provide post-workout relief.
