Our Maple Glen client was seeking a remodel to make their home much more family-friendly for their two young children. Cracked floor tile was replaced with luxury vinyl plank flooring to add warmth and stand up to the usage of an active family. The wall between their kitchen and dining room was removed to increase flow and communication within the spaces. We addressed their desire for storage solutions in the family room since it also serves as the children’s playroom. To accomplish this, we designed cabinetry for toys, games, art supplies, and more and made the cabinetry a feature by strategically placing shelves that allow for family photos and books. Millwork throughout serves to orient the space and provide directionality to the otherwise very long space. Shiplap trim was added for interest and the fireplace wall was treated floor to ceiling with a rich and fresh medium blue accent paint color.
