Our Rydal clients were tired of the outdated appearances of their wet bar, powder room, and family room and wanted them replaced with a moody, dramatic feel along with improved function. Ineffective storage at the wet bar was renovated to include custom inset cabinetry, etched mirror, open glass shelving, and accent lighting. The vibrant new peacock green cabinets are complimented by a colorful, patterned ceiling wallpaper trimmed with crown molding. Built-in glass display cabinets feature striking cremone bolt hardware in a polished brass finish. The beverage refrigerator and ice maker are intentionally concealed with appliance panels, notably the under-counter refrigerator with two tall height false drawer fronts.

The formerly drab powder room now features an eye-catching heron and nighttime garden wallpaper scene in dark burgundy with pinks and whites. The striking wallpaper is complimented by a custom wall-mounted marble vanity sink with wall-mounted faucet and controls, painted wainscot paneling and trim, and black hexagon floor tile. Toiletry storage is cleverly hidden behind a hinged wallpapered panel.

Originally an exterior space with a pitched floor for drainage, the floor of the family room was leveled for comfort and convenience and new 5” plank white oak hardwood was installed. The existing ceiling was opened to a vault with exposed framing and the enormous flat screen tv was recessed into a niche wall build-out. An original stone wall was exposed, and the existing fireplace was replastered for a fresh, contemporary new feel.

The completed remodel offers exceptional new spaces for the family to enjoy together and as they entertain and relax within their home!
