While an occasional cold shower may be refreshing after a few games of squash or a nice workout in the gym, most of us are not big fans of an absence of hot water.

While visiting friends in Lancaster this past weekend, I encountered a cold shower that simply did not want to work with me. I figured that maybe the plumber installed a valve backwards and the hot water was to the right; not this time! With a four and a two year old downstairs and a pending brunch reservation, I had no time to waste waiting for hot water. Into the cold I went for my 30 second speed shower, which after the previous day’s activities of backyard baseball, cornhole, smoked meats, and a few adult beverages, was quite refreshing.

If you have a shower that takes as long as getting a new drivers license at the DMV to get hot, you may want to consider a hot water recirculating system. Long story short, these systems can be installed in a day and can provide you almost instant hot water, no matter how far the water heater is from the shower. Rather than give you the long explanation here, you can click the below link for a great explanation.

As we approach the colder months, you should take the necessary steps to ensure that you and your better half don’t have to wait for the hot water you deserve!
