If it hasn’t started for you yet, the school year is right around the corner. This means a number of things; more stuff, more mess and more running around than we ever want to imagine. It’s this time of year that many of our clients are realizing that their Mudroom project should have been done last year.

Mudrooms can serve so many purposes for today’s busy families. They allow us to have a drop zone for mail, keys, phones, iPads, sports equipment, coats, shoes, etc. Without a space for all this stuff, where would it all end up?

We often see client’s homes with shoes all over the place, mail and charging wires on the countertops, sports equipment taking up valuable real estate that was meant for cars, and backpacks spread all over the Dining Room – things are getting out of hand!

Many of the Mudroom projects we designed for our clients are focused on solving many of the aforementioned problems. Some projects have basic cabinetry and counters with a laundry sink for cleaning paint brushes, and others involve custom cabinetry with designated cubbies for each family member. While the projects can differ greatly in design and cost, there is one thing they all have in common: they are all converting chaos to organized chaos!

Best of luck with the back to school craziness!
