Our North Wales clients were in great need of exterior remediation to their single-family home. For them, water damage from the existing stucco offered the perfect opportunity to replace the stucco while also creating a new exterior aesthetic. They loved their established, highly desired neighborhood but felt their home lacked distinctive exterior characteristics, and the existing circle top windows and corner quoins, matched to the stucco, gave it an outdated appearance. They had identified a variety of exterior features on other homes that they liked but needed Harth’s expertise for what should be introduced to their home for a timeless, highly durable new facade. 

The end result was an incredible transformation! The circle top windows were removed and the openings framed for larger Marvin windows to increase daylight in the living room, foyer, and primary bedroom. The existing stucco at the two-story entry wall was replaced with an eye-catching multi-color gray and crème quarry cut stone veneer that is carried across the remainder of the front facade at a water table height wainscot with bluestone cap and stone veneer corners. The stone veneer is complemented by a combination of James Hardie horizontal lap siding and vertical board and batten siding, both in Alpine White, which provides contrasting texture and visual interest at both the front façade and the sides of the house. Large, contemporary lantern style wall sconces flank the existing front door and sidelites. A pair of dark espresso garage doors and dark espresso horizontal trim boards at the entry wall over the new trio of second-story windows as well as the front door and give further definition to the sophisticated, contemporary aesthetic. James Hardie horizontal lap siding on the rear façade with new wall sconces at the door to the rear deck give continuity that completes the refreshed home exterior. The carefully selected exterior materials successfully address the stucco-related water issues while offering exceptional curb appeal that’s gorgeous for both the family and passersby to enjoy. The family may now have the most attractive home in the neighborhood!
