Their gorgeous, historic 1929 English Manor-style home was originally designed to support live-in staff, and included a kitchen with commercial appliances, linoleum flooring, stainless steel countertops, and MDF cabinetry. To better support the homeowners’ lifestyle while still honoring the architectural history of the house, our designers began with a reimagined floor plan that relocated the dining and living rooms to make space for a new kitchen layout, breakfast area and custom wet bar.
As a nod to the home’s past, the kitchen features a gorgeous custom plaster and walnut range hood, rich wood cabinetry set off by satin brass accents, marble and granite countertops and an expansive, showstopping black herringbone backsplash. The adjoining wet bar features the same wood cabinets, this time with glass doors and recessed lighting. A black Versailles pattern slate floor carries throughout the entire area for a natural flow.
To ensure a breathtaking first impression for visitors, the spacious entryway features a dramatic, large-scale nature mural, contrasted with black trim.
