Our Philadelphia clients were feeling cramped in their homes. The existing kitchen was small with an adjacent closed-in porch, used as a laundry room, and a toilet room with no sink. To better fit their growing family of 4, the exterior wall between the kitchen and laundry was removed, the porch floor was leveled, and the toilet was relocated. The result is a breathtaking transformation – a spacious open plan with an eat-in kitchen, concealed laundry appliances, and a light-filled powder room now located under the 2nd-floor stairs. The countertop material extends up the walls as a full-height backsplash creating a seamless transition while brightening the space. Millwork was added around the tall windows to mimic the rest of the house. Satin brass cabinet and door hardware, pendant lights, kitchen faucet, and powder room fixtures bring warmth to the airy white and dark espresso finishes of the new space.
